Thanks for landing here. My name is William Hatchett. Until recently I was editor of Environmental Health News – an award-winning membership magazine. Now, I am spreading my wings. I was editor of the title as a weekly, a bi-weekly, then a monthly so I understand working to deadlines as well as scheduling and planning. At EHN, I covered a wide range of topics, including food safety and policy, private housing, health and safety and environmental hazards and regulation in all sectors. I’ve worked on other magazines too, including in managerial roles, and was a PPA editor of the year and Housing Corporation housing journalist of the year (see LinkedIn). I’ve also done a lot of freelance writing, including blogging (see clients). The services I can offer include:
Columnist/Blogger – give me a subject, a word count and a deadline
Interim – acting editor or desk editor. I can keep your ship steady while you sort things out
Corporate services – case studies and company profiles
Press office – I’ve been working for 30 years in and around local government, so I know how it works. I can write press releases and do social media. I have great contacts in the specialised press, so, in these tough times, I can help to raise the profile of your council, or your service.
